Dardie started their new season against 2nd division Cambusglen, who on two occasions last season, pushed Dardie all the way. Dardie came racing out the traps and scored after 2 mins. Currie's long ball was touched on by Collins into the path of JOHNSTON and he carried the ball 10 yards before clinically finishing into the bottom corner. Dardie didn't have to wait long for the 2nd goal. Burns free kick delivery was spot on and BYERS finished from 5 yards to keep up his outstanding record against Cambusglen. Cambusglen got back into the match after 14 minutes when slack marking allowed a free shot for Oeriel, who finished low into the corner. Dardie reinstated their two goal advantage soon after. BURNS finding space 25 yards out and unleashed an effort that left the keeper helpless. Within a minute Dardie had another. A corner by Herson was superbly kept in play by McGowan and his header allowed COLLINS to tap in from 3 yards. Again Cambusglen found a way back into the game. A long ball over Wilson realised Murray who tucked it beyond Currie.

Dardie knew they had to keep control of the game with the next goal and clever football restored a three goal advantage. A one-two between Johnston and MacDonald relseased JOHNSTON and his left foot effort was smashed past the keeper. Dardie were in control now and added a 6th. One touch passing between Burns, Herson and Johnston set Herson up for the cross, from which COLLINS climbed highest to get his 2nd of the game. Cambusglen got another when a cut back found Campbell, whose mis kick decived Currie and landed in the net. Dardie finished the game with their 7th. MacDonald was faced with two players but calmly chipped the ball between the two, rounded the onrushing keeper but hit the defender on the line, MCBRIDE followed up and finished high into the net.
